Values, governance and CSR
NEW – B Corp Certification:
A Commitment to Social and Environmental Responsibility B Corp certification, also known as Benefit Corporation certification, represents the most demanding standard for assessing a company's environmental and social impact. It is based on a thorough assessment of the company's overall impact across five areas: governance, employees, the environment, the community and customers. In France, this certification remains rare, with only 300 certified companies. Currently, Huso has a score of 95.1 out of 200, a testament to its active commitment to continuous improvement. This approach is fulfilled at Caviar de Neuvic, which stands out as a pioneer in its field. With this certification, Caviar de Neuvic has become not only the first fish farm in France to be B Corp certified, but also the first caviar producer in the world to obtain this recognition. The goal is not to be the best company in the world, but the best company for the world.
Our values
Excellence, Respect, and Innovation are the values that drive us and that we wish to share with you:
At every stage of our value chain, we have made excellence the cornerstone of our business. Since its inception, our company has been consistently recognized and rewarded with multiple labels and awards for its commitment to quality, ecology, and ethics. Our meticulous approach and concern for the environment have been praised by the industry and experts, highlighting our dedication to sustainability. This recognition is a testament to our ongoing commitment to responsible business practices and our perseverance in creating high-quality products and services. We are proud of our track record and strive to maintain this standard of excellence in everything we do.
The Domaine de Caviar de Neuvic is a precious environment located between the Isle River and a century-old forest. It stands out for its ecological approach and respect for the ecosystem. The water in the ponds is recycled and returned to the river after treatment. Animals such as goats and horses contribute to the natural balance of the estate. Caviar de Neuvic raises its sturgeons in ponds fed by the Isle, with particular attention paid to preserving their fragile life cycle. The females are fed organic food that is free from GMOs and processed animal proteins. The estate is committed to research to improve egg collection methods. Sturgeon, an endangered species, is protected by the Washington Convention, and the estate actively supports the World Sturgeon Conservation Society (WSCS) in its efforts to preserve and repopulate the species worldwide. Your support for the WSCS is essential to this noble mission.
We use innovation to deliver on our commitment to more environmentally friendly production and fish welfare. Our company employs four agricultural engineers on permanent contracts, and has a department dedicated to fisheries research and another to research and development in the agri-food sector. Since 2017, Bpi France has recognised us as a member of #TeamExcellence, which testifies to our excellence in innovation. In addition, we are proud to be members of various research and innovation platforms, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

CSR: our commitment as a mission-driven company
Corporate Social Responsibility
The history of caviar and the disappearance of sturgeon is a lesson for contemporary fish farming and calls for exemplary responsible behaviour. With a long-standing commitment to sustainable development, our CSR commitment is a new step forward for our innovative business model, which actively contributes to the common good by taking into account the collective interest and the planet in its objectives, in line with the sustainable development goals defined by the UN.
Mission-driven company
The Pacte Law, relating to business growth and transformation, introduces the status of Mission-Driven Company. It allows a company to publicly declare its status as a mission-driven company by specifying its purpose, as well as one or more social and environmental objectives that the company has set itself as its mission to pursue as part of its business. Becoming a Mission-Driven Company is the continuation of this committed approach.
Caviar de Neuvic formalised its mission by joining the community of mission-driven companies, becoming the first freshwater aquaculture company and caviar producer to declare itself a mission-driven company in July 2021.
Our purpose: The raison d'être is consistent with the company's values, expresses its societal and environmental contribution, and guides it over the long term.
‘Offering the finest caviar thanks to our commitment as producers, crafting it using the highest quality practices that respect fish, people and the environment.’
Our mission The mission is the translation of our raison d'être into social, economic, and environmental objectives. We have set ourselves the following mission: – Objective 1: Reduce our impact on the environment – Objective 2: Contribute to the economic and social development of our region · Mission committee: This is a body separate from the company's decision-making body, which is exclusively responsible for monitoring the execution of the mission.
Our management committee meets two to three times a year to advise and guide the company in its approach.
OTI – Ethics Group
As a mission-driven company, we undergo an audit every two years by our independent third-party organisation (ITO) accredited by COFRAC. We passed this audit successfully in early January, as we have just received a favourable opinion!
